This boer baby girl lost her eye due to a complication

from a condition called entropion. This is somewhat common in baby goats. She developed this condition days after birth. Her eye lashes were rolled in on the bottom eye lid. Her eyes were matting up and goopy. We treated her and rolled them out but they just rolled back in. We took her to the vet and they had done damage that could not be repaired so she lost her eye. We had a baby Boer boy with this early this season. Again we tried to treat it with no success so the vet stitched his eye to keep his eye lashes out and you can't tell he had it done.

We were planning on keeping this beautiful girl from the moment we saw her and she is thriving. We are always learning and growing as goat parents. Being goats parents is sometimes sad and heart breaking but you would be amazed what you will do to help or save a goat. Just as with a child instinct kids in and you just do it. #ForTheLoveofGoats
