Oh my, this was traumatic for our poor Dottie girl and us as well. Everyone on the farm was in tears during this birth. Mom was over and we had a friend picking up a goat when all of this happened. It breaks your heart to see your goat in such pain and you know that you are doing everything you can to help. I always think call the vet but when an emergency presents in most cases the goat would not make it until the vet arrived. Instinct takes over and you just do it to save them!
We were able to get this beautiful little F4 Mini Nubian Buckling out safely. He was aspirated but we were prepared for that as well. They are both exhausted but doing well. We are tired physically and emotionally drained. We are praying that we have no more goats born tonight. Please say a little prayer for these 2 tonight.
I am working on her birthing story and will post it to the website when I get a chance.
